PTA Begins Registering VPN IP Addresses for Freelancers and Software Houses.
A delegation from the **Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA)** recently visited the **Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA)** headquarters to discuss how freelancers can be better supported.
During the meeting, **PTA Chairman Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman** welcomed the PAFLA team and shared the steps PTA is taking to help the IT sector, especially freelancers, software houses, and businesses. One of the key initiatives is the **registration of VPN IP addresses**. This is being done to ensure that if there are any disruptions in internet access in the country, businesses and freelancers can still work without being affected.
Why is VPN Registration Important?
A **VPN (Virtual Private Network)** allows users to securely access the internet and protect their data. Many businesses, software companies, and freelancers use VPNs for safe and uninterrupted online work. By registering VPN IP addresses with PTA, these groups can avoid any possible interruptions in their work.
The process to register a VPN is **simple, free, and takes 2 to 3 days**. PTA is also planning to spread awareness about this process through different channels like webinars, podcasts, and tutorials to help freelancers and businesses understand the benefits and steps for VPN registration.
PAFLA’s Response.
**Tufail Ahmed Khan**, President and CEO of PAFLA, praised PTA for supporting freelancers and taking important steps to ensure they have uninterrupted access to the internet.
This initiative shows that PTA is working to make it easier for people in the IT industry to continue their work smoothly, even if there are internet challenges in the country.
